EP 18: What I Learned from a 10 Day Silent Vipassana Meditation Retreat

In this episode I share the most valuable gems of wisdom I received from recently going 10 day in silence and meditating for 80+ hours at the Dhamma Center in 29 Palms. I've never cleared that type of space before and attained such a high level of awareness in my thinking patterns and bodily sensations I was unconsciously reacting to everyday of my life.

Vipassana Meditation is a technique that was discovered in India by Gotama Buddha to achieve enlightenment. A technique he then dedicated the rest of his life to teaching others to help rid them of their misery and suffering. It is a non sectarian and universal practice meant for everyone not just those practicing Buddhism. It is aimed at digging deep into the roots of sankaras (habits that don't serve us) to reprogram and uproot. Think plucking the weeds out of the garden of your mind.

This was a very unique, interesting, challenging, and incredible experience all in one. These seem to be gaining traction as there are over 200 centers around the world and courses are booked out sometimes up to 6 months in advance. EP 17: Personal Responsibility and Breaking Free of Our Past with Christina Beauchemin

Today I drop in with Author and Speaker Christina Beauchemin to discuss her latest book titled "Let My Legacy Be Love."

We talk about tracing back our biggest issues as adults to childhood and the studies now showing that most of us deal with Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) that can keep us in unrecognized patterns of behavior. These can be responsible for why we keep attracting certain people and events in our life that we're not desiring but seem to repeat over and over.

Christina talks about taking personal responsibility in looking at these patterns and doing the inner work to free ourselves of the chains of the past to live as our authentic selves. This topic relates to all of us in one way or another so I hope you enjoy and get something out of it!

Her book is now available on Amazon and Barnes & Nobles.

EP 16: (Solocast) A Deep and Vulnerable Share of My California Journey

Two years ago I left everything behind on the East Coast and came out to California honoring my soul’s calling to create the life I was born to live. I knew it wouldn’t be easy but I couldn’t have ever imagined the levels of healing and sacrifice I’d have to make as part of it. This is the deepest public share I've ever done but the more I practice vulnerability the more I uncover my authenticity.

This is who I am and this is what this journey has led me to.

In this episode I talk about:

  • Completely losing myself and moving through crippling fear & limiting thoughts

  • Asking deep honest questions to myself

  • Surrendering, trusting, letting go of control, confronting all the doubts, the insecurities, and the limitations

  • -Sharing vulnerably from your heart, forming your own truth, and shining your light.

EP 15: Self Discovery, Vulnerability, & the Challenges we Face as Humans with Jeddy Azuma

Loved this conversation with my brother Jeddy Azuma (Host of the Rising Man Podcast, Man Cave, Conscious Man Brotherhood). We talk about all things self-discovery, saying yes to your mission, stepping outside of comfort, healing between Men and Women, and providing a better world for our children and future generations.

I share some things openly about my journey that I haven't before and Jeddy really gets to the core of some of the biggest issues we face as men.
